Happy Birthday Merald “Bubba” Knight of the Pips (1942). In 1968, Diana Ross & the Supremes and the Temptations record their lead vocals on “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me.”

When two brands bond together, in the creation of a work – all can be winners.

This happened for the city’s of Detroit and Philadelphia, upon the creation and release of the Motown classic R&B ballad, “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me”, recorded by the Motown’s dynamic groups, the Temptations and the Supremes – further solidified by the contribution of rival writers Leon Gamble and Kenny Huff, from the Sound of Philadelphia. Even today, this recording when heard over the air ways, is as powerful and enjoyable as any works being produced, in our techno digital age.

This is my favorite line – “with each beat of my heart, for every day that we are apart – I hunger for every wasted hour” – spoken by Otis Williams of the Temptations.

Motown won, the Sounds of Philadelphia and Detroit won – as well as all listeners, fortunate to have witnessed such a classic melody and resonating performance, by two of the best vocal groups, ever formed in American pop culture.

Just another example, of Mystical Motown

This date in 1981, in Motown history marks the first week at No. 1 for Diana Ross & Lionel Richie’s “Endless Love.” It goes on to spend nine weeks total at the summit. Another duet is issued on this same day in 1967: “Your Precious Love” by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell.

Make melody and harmony with your clients.

Motown was keen, on making classic R&B duets, often from the collaboration of two top talents, surrendering their egos for the betterment of the team. Countless times, Marvin Gaye, was teamed with female stalwarts, like Kim Weston,Diana Ross, and Tammi Terrell – in the creation of melodies that have not only lasted but have been honored and imitated, by their musical peers, for years.

Now consider your brand – and envision your message / melody operating in harmony with your clients – like a match made in heaven.

Project and protect your most valued asset, in sweet surrender with the desires of your customers.

Create your memorable relationships and alliances for the good of the team.

The Four Tops’ “Reach Out I’ll Be There” is released as a single in 1966. The group wasn’t too happy, but Berry Gordy got the last word – and the magic of Motown continued to churn out hits.

Reach Out and Be There for your customers – offering them the products and or services that they desire, aligned content and value to keep them engaged – to keep them coming back to you.

It’s really quite simple – those businesses that are able to provide value and content, will overtime create a customer / client base that is both loyal and beneficial. The name of the game is retention – a technique which played and deployed effectively, will lower your cost, provide economies and efficiencies and ensure and extend your reach.

Loyal, engaged customers mean repeat sales, and extended opportunities based on their referrals of your offerings, to others that they know and meet.

Reach Out and Be There for your customers, as you project and protect your most valued asset.
