If he where still here with us bodily, the celebration would take on a different form for sure – yet in his physical absence, his magnanimous presence is still and will still resonate in our hearts, souls and minds for years to come. For never before, in modern times has an entertainer and humanitarian, bridged the gap of culture divides to bring together peoples from every facet of life – in music, dance and harmony, along with a firm commitment, to make this a better world for all.

Joyfully on this great day, let us celebrate his life, his legacy and his music, with appreciation for all he gave and all we were fortunate to witness.

Edward Moore “Ted” Kennedy (February 22, 1932 – August 25, 2009) was a United States Senator from Massachusetts and a member of the Democratic Party. In office since November 1962, Kennedy served nine terms in the Senate. At the time of his death, he was the second most senior member of the Senate, after Robert Byrd of West Virginia, and the third-longest-serving senator in U.S. history. He was best known as one of the most outspoken and effective Senate proponents of liberal causes and bills. For many years the most prominent living member of the Kennedy family, he was the youngest brother of President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Tho some may argue this point, know person of deep sensibility can dispute the fact that Senator Ted Kennedy developed a brand above refute – by rising above a central obstacle in his storied life, to become one of the most influential political and social reform figures in the history of our great nation.

For over 47 years, he worked tirelessly in promoting liberal reforms and policies, for the benefit of all Americans. Although he was born into plenty, he chose the higher path, seeking to win legislation for the benefit of those less fortunate.

When most would have quit, and resigned themselves to a life of less scrutiny – Senator Kennedy, chose to stay at the forefront, leading battles after battles and campaigns after campaigns – ultimately becoming not just another U.S. Senator, but a statesman without refute.

Let us celebrate his life and his legacy, as we cherish his most valued asset.
